Presentation

the students of the escola superior de música de catalunya (esmuc) organize a meeting for students in musicology and young musicologists next 8th, 9th and 10th of may 2008. the aim is to share questions and interests about our discipline and to create a web of communication that allows for the collaboration and interchange between us. the thematic axis of the meeting will be musicology at the present time in contemporary societies, and the round tables and discussions will be centred around the curricula of the doctrine and the musicologist's options in the labour market. papers and presentations of research projects are thematically free and will be delivered by all people interested in participation. for this reason this meeting is dedicated especially to the students of musicology and ethnomusicology, but they are also open for all those interested in the discipline.

Modality and terms of presentation

The participation is open to everyone.

For the Papers, the participants will have 10-15 minutes to do the presentation. After that, there will be some time to discuss and debate andthe audience will have the opportunity to exchange opinions about the subject.

Round Tables will have presentations 8-12 minutes long. The participants will share different points of view and experiences about the topics. The aim of this activity will be the dialogue and the exchange of opinions.

Concerning the Posters, the participants will prepare a speech to explain their Poster. All the Posters will be exhibited and exposed.

The Meeting's official languages will be Catalan, Spanish, and English.
